Our mind is an extremely powerful thing. It allows us to strategize, express ourselves, converse with people, and determine how our day is going to go. Healthy thinking is just as important as the healthy decisions we make to improve our life. Use your brain to fuel your energy, not distinguish it.
Portland Personal Trainers see it all the time. A client walks in and voices how tired they are. They’ve felt tired all day and they don’t know how much energy they will have complete the day’s workout. The problem with this is that the simple thought of being tired that they allowed to enter their brain, has determined how their entire day has gone.
The same thing goes when a client believes an exercise is too hard. They have fatigued their muscles, their mind tells them they’re tired, and they allow themselves to give in. Instead of allowing yourself to think that you’re tired, and that you can’t do anymore, remind yourself how strong you are. Allow your determination to kick in and power through those last exercises. Sure, the exercise might be challenging, but you have to believe that you can overcome it.
The power of thinking can change your life. Allow only good thoughts in your head. If a negative one finds its way in, quickly think of positive thought to replace it.
