What was life like before?
What was migration process like?
What has life been like since?
What were your perceptions/ideas of the new place?
Was there sexual assault? (male political prisoner; female)
Community is important to how people adapt as well as their mood (depressed)
Dynamics of Family
Power shift when son and father go and leave mother (executive split)
Financial problems with not supporting/provide (self esteem goes down)
What says to sibling that stays vs sibling that goes (abandoned)
Relationships change/may not ever be as close
Parentified children; translator etc

Many people come into treatment because of a broken heart
They come in because they are home sick for their home land
Couple may fight because spouse is in their homeland
Spouse may not understand loneliness, lack of community, social
How did the decision to migrate come to be?
Did it change over time?

Political issues and medical issues
Not a racial/ethnicity issue
